Ingredients
serves 8
11/4 cups batter
650g cooking apples
large 1/3 cup sugar
30ml rum or kirsch
11/4 cups cooking oil
Method
Peel, core and slice the cooking apples, not too thinly
Dredge with half sugar, sprinkle with the rum or kirsche and set aside for an hour or so
When you are ready to fry, wipe the apples slices
Dip them in the batter and fry at 180°C for 3-5 minutes or until golden. serve very hot
